David Tennant as the Tenth Doctor <3
I used both photoshop and Sai this time. The majority was sai, but a lot of his face was done in PS. I've been trying to practice other programs lately because I know I'll have to in my proffession. I have the original photoshop CS on my old mac laptop, so needless to say, it's pretty ancient. XD Hopefully I can get a newer version sometime soon. c:
I forgot his jacket pocket aisojdioasjd. Oh well. The time-space-continuum wont implode if he's missing a pocket... right??
I've been drawing a lot....of men lately...

However, something's off in the face of the doctor. I think it's the nose - it could be too large, too prominent, too curved - although I'm certainly no expert at this kind of art. The eye, at the very least, seem too deep and too cold to me, and that might merit a little bit of change.
Still, the shading on here is epic. The color here is amazing. And overall this is a really great work.
I love the way that you captured him, the reasoning for giving 5 stars on the impact. However, despite the lovely detail and colors you've chosen, my biggest problem is of that it is slightly reminiscent of another Artists' work. Now, do not take this as an insult- both you and the other artist are very talented, but in light of Alice x Zhang's recent (more recent than not) fame, I see similarities in your background choices. This is the most reason I give for deducting originality "stars".
On that same note, I don't (obviously) expect every one to be so vastly different, and so inventive and to be spectacular all of the time, but, it had to be mentioned.
Aside from that- This piece is striking.
It's not overly bright, it has a dark-on-dark color scheme nearly, but vibrant in the absolute richness of the colors you've used. The drawing of David Tennant is very realistic and I suppose that may be part of why the background bothers me- though I don't follow this bit personally, I believe, that to make a great piece, you need an equally great background. While I adore the colors, and how they tie into the drawing, it can feel slightly apart from the piece at times.
The smoothness, the softness and human tones (on a very much non-human... heh......) used are lovely.
I hope I haven't offended- I think that this is a beautiful piece, and I really want to see more, frequently(!) from you!
Beautiful, lovely, and other synonyms!
